Internship Technical Design Men

MEXX is a leading international company present in 46 countries worldwide, selling through over 5000 retail and wholesale stores. As an intern at Mexx you will be working at our Women and Men division with our Technical Design team. You will be working with the team on ensuring consistency on product-fit-sizing and constructions.

Key accountabilities of the role:
Assist the Technical Designer’s within the Women and Men’s department in their day to day work by:
• Being a part of fit sessions to improve products in terms of fit, sizing and construction
• Gather comments and technical illustrations of detailed garment constructions to communicate directly to the factories
• Measure sample garments in preparation of a fit session
• Check production outcome
• Work out manuals and standardization

Required Skills

You are an enthusiastic Fashion/Textile Bachelor student. You are independent, hardworking and eager to learn, and have good verbal and written communication skills in English. The right candidate has excellent computer skills (Excel, Word, Illustrator), and is confident in using CAD.
You have an understanding of, and affinity with feminine or male casual consumers. You have the desire to work in an international environment, you are open minded, flexible (no 9-5 mentality) and organized. You have a real interest in fashion, and preferably have experience of working in retail fashion. The internship placement is for 40 hours per week, starting as from July or August 2014 for a period of 12 months.
Please note that this placement will require authorisation from your university, as a compulsory part of your studies.
